Super Robot Wars COMPACT gameplay review

This was my first time playing Super Robot Wars Compact.

When I played it, I found it difficult because the mental commands aren’t fixed, and I’d never been able to use “acceleration” before, so I had to think a lot while playing.

Stage impressions and strategies

In this game, the mental commands change depending on the WonderSwan’s birthday and blood type settings, so you have to play according to the character.

Amuro is the only Gundam character who has learned “acceleration.”

Since he doesn’t have “acceleration,” I used the GP-01Fb, which was a different approach to playing than usual.

This time, the enemy’s firepower was strong, so for some reason Amuro had Iron Wall, so I put the Li-GZ on it, accelerated, concentrated, and placed it in front of the boss, and waited for a counterattack.
I’m glad I was able to play that way.

There is also a skill coordination system, so the skills you can learn change depending on the turn you clear.
If you clear within 6 turns, you’ll learn Concentration (80% mental points consumed), and if you clear within 7 turns, you’ll learn Fighting Spirit (105 morale), so you need to clear the map quickly to learn Concentration as much as possible.

The early stages were difficult, and Scene 1 was almost always difficult.

I didn’t understand the skill coordination system either, so I played while thinking about who to teach skills to.

It gets easier once Kamille joins the team.

The final scenes are very difficult.

“Cruel Fairy Tale,” “The Dreamers,” and “God Bless Dancouga” are difficult but I remember them well.

The enemies are also strong, and the firepower of Gildeen’s Gil Arrow is so great that it can take you down in one hit, and the funnels of Elgaim-type bosses can be cut off, so you need to be very careful.

Recommended Units

Recommended Units

Recommended units with low HP
Li-GZ, Z Gundam, Hyaku Shiki

Super Robot Wars Compact attacks units with low HP, so it’s a good idea to have a character you want to level up, or have someone like Amuro or Kamille pilot the unit to reduce the enemy’s HP.
This is a strategy that makes it easy to fight until the end.

ZZ Gundam
The High Mega Cannon is great for leveling up.
It also pairs well with Judau.
It’s a good idea to add the Mega Booster and Psycoframe to it.

L-Gaim
When you use V-up units, it becomes incredibly strong.

Recommended characters

Recommended characters

Amuro
If you place him on the enemy team, he’ll be a reliable character.

Kamille
If you place him on the enemy team, he’s a reliable character.
His high shooting ability makes him very powerful.

Lina
She’s good at shooting, but she’s also good at hand-to-hand combat, so she’s very strong when using the Super Gundam’s beam sabers.

Quess
His shooting ability is high, so he can take them down easily.

Lalah
Her shooting ability is high, so she can take them down easily.

The pixel size was set to 1204 x 774, and the output was set to approximately the aspect ratio of the WonderSwan.

impressions

It’s a really fun Super Robot Wars game, and it’s great because L-Gaim appears, and I used it a lot because I wanted to hear the F91 background music.

It was a lot of fun.

I played with a Gundam character, but I think it would be more fun to play with an L-Gaim character or your favorite character.
Daimos is also there, so the range of play is widened, making this a fun Super Robot Wars game.

It was a shame that the Sirocco was so weak.
